Oxner Legha, PLLC is a rapidly expanding boutique law firm based in Jersey Village, Texas. Representing clients in a wide range of legal services, such as family law, business law, probate law, estate planning, consumer law, and personal injury, our firm is recognized for its commitment to providing top-tier legal assistance. In line with our current growth, we are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our family law practice and contribute to the exceptional service we provide our clients.

About you

We are on the lookout for a Family Law Paralegal with an associate degree and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in family law. The ideal candidate should be proficient in all aspects of family law litigation, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and domestic violence.

Your responsibilities

The prospective candidate will need to be a highly motivated self-starter with a deep understanding of the unique needs and legal concerns of our clients. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining client files both physically and digitally
  • Assisting clients in preparing financial information sheets, inventories, and appraisement
  • Managing all aspects of discovery requests and responses, including drafting, organizing, and communicating with clients for documentation
  • Managing calendars and tactfully handling conflicts
  • Fielding phone calls and accurately recording messages
  • Conducting research, preparing legal drafts of motions and pleadings
  • Filing documents with the court
  • Assisting the attorney in preparing for court hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and other settlement conferences
  • Filing cases with the electronic online filing managers such as E-File Texas and FileTime
  • Meeting deadlines and multitasking effectively while maintaining a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrating adept computer and word processing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and familiarity with internet research

The successful candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and be prepared to occasionally work beyond regular hours, including evenings and weekends, in preparation for hearings and trials.
