Jason Oxner – Attorney – Partner
About Me
Attorney Jason Oxner primarily practices civil law, with a focus on Civil Litigation, Business Transactions, Estate Planning, Asset Protection, and Consumer Rights.
Attorney Oxner is a Canadian citizen who moved to the United States on an academic and athletic (hockey) scholarship at the Groton School in Massachusetts. Jason then graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, following which he attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he was an Associate Editor on Law Review, elected as Mr. Thurgood Marshall School of Law, a Real Property Tutor, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 5% of his class. After receiving his Juris Doctor, Jason received a scholarship to attend St. John’s University School of Law in New York, where he obtained his Masters of Law (LLM).
Prior to cofounding Oxner Legha, PLLC, Jason worked in the Athletic Department at West Virginia University, as a business attorney negotiating a new baseball stadium lease, vendors contracts, and other business law transactions. Jason worked directly under the then Athletic Director, Oliver Luck, to secure a minor league baseball stadium agreement, among other major transactions.
Jason then moved back to Texas and began his litigation career in personal injury, medical malpractice, and business litigation at the oldest personal injury firm in Texas. In the first few months of practice, Jason and his supervising attorney won over three million dollars for their client at trial.
Baylor College of Medicine hired Jason to represent doctors and researchers at St. Luke’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and Texas Children’s Hospital during the negotiation phase of new drugs and devices with private pharmaceutical companies. Jason also helped Baylor and its doctors implement a new contract tracking system to ensure that all negotiations contained the university’s core material terms.
Today, Attorney Jason Oxner is a cofounding partner at Oxner Legha Law Firm in Houston, Texas. He represents individuals, business owners, and continues to represent doctors, with a recent negotiation involving NASA and the International Space Station.
Jason’s clients appreciate his diverse employment background, his record in obtaining verdicts for his clients, and his ability to implement new technological advancements into the practice of law.
Jason continues to play hockey, serve as the Director at Large to his Homeowners Association, Global Advisor to Nova Scotia Business Inc., Secretary to the Thurgood Marshall Bar Excellence Project, mentor students and law students, and other volunteer and board memberships.
Jason is licensed in the State of Texas and is a member of the State Bar’s Business Law Section, Real Estate and Probate Section, and Consumer & Commercial Law Section.
